Dr. Sk Abdul Mohid

Structural Biologist | Biochemist | Science Communicator

I study how protein structures and molecular interactions shape gene regulation, disease mechanisms, antimicrobial activity, protein quality control, and cellular homeostasis.

My research spans structural biology, epigenetics, and biochemical mechanisms that control essential cellular processes. During my PhD, I focused on antimicrobial peptides, peptide–membrane interactions, and structure–activity relationships using solution NMR and biophysical approaches.

As a postdoctoral researcher, I study cancer and developmental epigenetics, protein arginylation, protein quality control, cholesterol biosynthesis, and autophagy-linked cancer biology. I combine solution NMR, biochemistry, cell biology, and computational structure analysis to understand how molecules function — and how their misregulation contributes to disease.

Beyond the lab, I am passionate about science communication, visual learning, and building resources that make molecular biology, structural biology, and epigenetics more accessible to students, researchers, and curious lifelong learners.

About Sk Abdul Mohid, PhD

This is the official personal research website of Sk Abdul Mohid, PhD, a structural biologist and biochemist interested in how molecules govern life — from epigenetic regulation and protein modifications to metabolism, host-defense mechanisms, and disease-linked molecular pathways.

This website brings together my research, publications, solved molecular structures, science writing, and training materials. My goal is to make complex molecular science more visible, intuitive, and useful for students, researchers, and science enthusiasts.

When I am not in the lab or writing, I enjoy learning new ideas, exploring languages, building science communication projects, and thinking about how curiosity can connect research, education, and creativity.
